The BRAKE E-Mobility Education Program Australia was recently featured by 7NEWS during its first classroom delivery at Parklands Christian College in Logan.

The story, now shared across 7NEWS social platforms nationally, highlights the growing importance of structured education as e-scooter and e-bike use increases among younger adolescents.

7NEWS coverage of the first classroom delivery of the BRAKE E-Mobility Education Program in Logan.

Why the BRAKE E-Mobility Program Australia was Developed

Across Australia, e-mobility adoption is accelerating. Young people are riding earlier and more frequently, yet formal education around judgement, peer influence and hazard awareness has not kept pace.

BRAKE developed the E-Mobility Education Program Australia to address this gap.

Designed specifically for students aged 11 to 15, the program focuses on:

  • Risk perception
  • Peer influence awareness
  • Hazard recognition
  • Responsible device use
  • Decision making under pressure

The aim is to build the cognitive and behavioural foundations required for safer independent riding while habits are still forming.

A Safe System Approach

Within a Safe System framework, infrastructure, enforcement and vehicle safety technology play critical roles in reducing harm.

Education strengthens safer decision making within those environments. By delivering structured, classroom based learning before independent riding increases, the program supports safer participation in emerging transport modes.
