The BRAKE Driver Awareness Program Distance Education Mode won the Innovation category at the 2009 Queensland Road Safety Awards.  The BRAKE Driver Awareness Program Distance Education Mode developed by Tamara Warner of the Capricornia School of Distance Education developed and facilitates. Tamara accepted the award from the Minister for Transport, The Honourable Rachel Nolan MP.

CEO of BRAKE, Mr. Rob Duncan said, "It is wonderful to receive such recognition through a highly regarded award and BRAKE is thrilled for Tamara.  We greatly appreciate the ongoing support that the Capriconia School of Distance Education provides to Tamara and BRAKE, but most importantly their students through providing BRAKE in such a unique and succesful way".

BRAKE would like to express its heartfelt thanks all partners and sponsors which have provided such valuable assistance to make this award possible.  In particular our partners in the Central Highlands and Coalfields, the Mining Industry Road Safety Alliance and the Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy.
