BRAKE Courses

When our young people start to drive it can be a very stressful period for both the parents and also the young driver. The parents cannot be blamed for thinking: Will they be safe?  How do we pass on our knowledge and what can we do to teach them?

Our new and learner drivers just want to be out there for the freedom and excitement. They are not generally aware that they don't have skills and ability to understand the risks associated with driving.

The BRAKE program aims to accelerate their understanding of attitudes and behaviours needed to be a safe driver.  We also teach risk assessment, cognitive development and introduce a range of concepts to build their knowledge.

Learning to drive takes time: three to five years in fact!  As a parent your role in this learning journey is vital.

The BRAKE training courses are designed to share skills and tools that you can use to teach your young person and keep them safe on our roads.  It is a combination of slides used in the program backed up with supporting information from the course so that you can see what they have experienced. It also contains tips of how you can help them learn to be a safe driver.
